Orbitel Communications offers its basic cable TV service, OrbitelConnect, through bulk billing arrangements negotiated with most of the developers and home builders in Maricopa. These agreements are the reason Cable TV services were available to Maricopa and its residents during the early years of Maricopa’s development. Developers approached the major communications companies about their plans in Maricopa only to be told that they would not have communications services as part of their developments until years later. Orbitel shared the developers’ vision and agreed to build its state of the art communications system. Orbitel sought commitments from the developers that some limited level of services would be purchased by every home. These guarantees make it possible for Orbitel to obtain the financing that is necessary to construct and operate the cable TV system. In exchange, Orbitel has discounted its OrbitelConnect service so that every home in these developments can have access to local news, weather, information and entertainment at discounted pricing.
Orbitel offers 230 channels of analog, digital high definition audio and video cable TV, high speed internet and digital phone services. Customers can select from any number of additional levels of service that best fit the budget and needs in their home. As a member of an Orbitel bulk cable TV billed HOA, residents automatically receive free installation for their initial installation of any Orbitel Services. Also, because all residents are automatically an Orbitel Customer as part of their HOA, they qualify for hundreds of dollars in additional discounts that apply to cable TV, high speed internet and digital phone service pacakges.
Residents are billed by their association on either a monthly or quarterly basis for their basic cable TV (OrbitelConnect) charges. Residents pay for these services to their association and the association remits to Orbitel the payment for all homes within the neighborhood on a monthly basis. If a resident wishes to take additional services offered by Orbitel, they establish an Orbitel account. Orbitel will bill you only for the additional services that you request to receive from Orbitel.
