04.28.09 Orbitel Planned Internet Outage

Tuesday, April 28, 2009  Maricopa, AZ:

Orbitel Communications will be performing the second planned upgrade this month to its internet equipment on Wednesday April 29th between the hours of 1am - 5am MST. During these hours, customers may experience interruptions in their internet and telephone services provided by Orbitel. Customers are encouraged to be off-line during these hours to minimize any possible inconveniences due to the maintenance work being done. Internet and phone services will not be interrupted during the entire maintenance period but can be off at anytime during these hours.  The maximum time that a customer could be off the air is expected to be only 1 hour.  “It is impossible for us to determine when that outage will occur, we just know the work will not start before 1am and we should be done by 5am” said VP of Engineering Jerome Erickson.  The work being performed will not affect video services. All cable TV channels will remain on during these hours. Orbitel expects to have the internet and phone services fully restored by no later than 5am on Wednesday morning. “We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and understanding while we undertake these upgrades.  We work very hard to minimize the interruptions to our services and schedule this maintenance work during our lowest usage hours” said Erickson.
