December 1, 2008 Maricopa, AZ: Today, Orbitel Communications announced an opportunity for Orbitel customers to test their television sets for Digital TV (DTV) transition readiness. All local Phoenix broadcast stations will be conducting several on-air DTV tests for viewers to participate. The dates are December 5, 2008 from 5:23-5:28pm, December 17, 2008 from 6:25-6:30pm and January 17, 2009 from 6:25-6:30pm. Each test will be 5 minutes in length to allow time for viewers to turn on and test each TV set in their home. There will be an on screen banner informing viewers if they are ready or not. The Digital Television transition will take place on February 17, 2009. On this day, all broadcast stations across the country will cease broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in a digital format. How do you know if you're ready for DTV? If you have service with Orbitel, you are ready for the transition. Your Orbitel service will not be affected, and you will not be required to change any equipment. Orbitel Communications will continue to provide the most up to date DTV information to our customers.
